What is Lleswyl?
Lleswyl: The Daring to Dream Festival
Live-streamed to your home
Friday 21 February 2025 – 19:00 – 22:30
Lleswyl is Daring to Dream’s ‘Wellbeing Festival’. The Festival-at-Home experience that we established to support the wellbeing of those who normally cannot attend live gigs because of chronic illness, disability, or loneliness. Our aim is to provide an experience that everyone can share: an uplifting, fun and joyous Festival evening with the company of family, friends, and neighbours! Music is the catalyst that creates this wellbeing experience.
Lleswyl is free, fun, and for everyone!
Lleswyl is the only free, livestreamed festival bringing the joy of music and connection to those for whom there will not be a new normal, because of illness.
Illness (acute and chronic) and disability can be incredibly isolating, and very emotionally demanding too. Our mission at Daring to Dream is to support the emotional health and wellbeing of adults in Wales living with physical illness. That is about 1.2 million people!
Lleswyl is just one way in which we are raising awareness of the need for emotional health and wellbeing support for those living with physical illness. It is also an important way of us actively encouraging our social connection with those with chronic illness or disability with others, sharing music, laughter and joy. Our vision is of a joyous, fun, and emotionally uplifting evening, shared with others, from the comfort of your own home.
Lleswyl 2025 will see us promote (more and more) Lleswyl #watchparties at home or on Zoom, as a way of connecting with others and enjoying that social space together.
Lleswyl 2025 will be hosted live by Siân Lloyd, Jason Harrold, and Tumi Williams (BSL interpreted also) and through the night they will introduce great artists and bands, covering a range of diverse genres, with appeal across the generations. The sets will be interspersed with engaging and relevant live interviews, some ‘on the sofa’ and some via video links.
The whole evening will again be promoting our campaign of ‘making space to talk’.
Lleswyl will showcase too some inspirational patients, and the charities who support their particular patient community. Lleswyl is also an occasion for Daring to Dream to showcase the work of the charity.
Lleswyl is a dynamic, quality, engaging and professional digital end-to-end production, its contributors receive a fee and there are many additional costs such as licensing, fees for the hosts, BSL interpretation and so on for which we need to seek funding and financial support. Our aim is to attract corporate support and donations, sponsorship, and grant-funding to cover the total costs of putting on Lleswyl and providing this particular charitable activity.
