Corporate support

Supporting our work is a positive way of engaging your staff behind a great cause and demonstrating your company’s commitment to making a real difference in your local community. Daring to Dream works across Wales, supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of all adults living with physical illness; this is something that really matters to your employees.

Adults living with physical illness in Wales:

Nearly half of all adults in Wales (that is approximately1.2 million people) are estimated to be living with at least one longstanding illness. Of those, the lives of more than half (approximately 800,000 people) are either somewhat or severely limited by their illness.

Physical and longstanding (chronic) illnesses include:

  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Arthritis
  • Neurological Conditions (including Alzheimer’s)
  • Autoimmune Conditions
  • Asthma
  • Stroke
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Long Covid and many more

This means that everyone of us is impacted by physical illness and its impact, either we ourselves live with illness or a member of our family, a friend, or colleague does. This is a huge social inclusion agenda, that affects us all.

The emotional impact of physical illness:

Illness not only has a physical impact on us, but also an emotional one.

Health professionals treat and support the physical impacts of living with illness, both in hospital and in the community. To maximise the benefit of the care we receive from the health professionals, it is essential to also support the emotional health of people living with physical illness. This is the mission of Daring to Dream, and the reason for the charity being founded.

We are developing our national presence in Wales: As a pan Wales charity, our reach is across all areas of Wales and all money raised in Wales is spent in Wales.

For more information on our work, to discuss becoming a potential charity of the year or to find out how else your business or organisation can get involved and support our work please contact the team on 07989 385114 or email: daringtodream@learningpathways.info – thank you from us all at Daring to Dream.

Our story:

Enjoy this video that outlines our mission, what we do, why it matters, how you can volunteer or donate; an arrangement created by very talented Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama students created for us, of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

As a charity we want to ensure that no one living with illness has to ‘walk alone’.
