SINFONIA CYMRU

Shwmae! We are Sinfonia Cymru, an orchestra, but not your typical orchestra! We’re an under 30’s orchestra, made up of some of the best young professional musicians in the country. Yes, we play classical music, but we also play pop, jazz, folk, blues…the musicians decide. Giving them the opportunity to develop their creativity, collaborate and programme their own concerts is important to us. That’s why there’s usually no conductor, our concerts are player led. Yes, we perform at concert halls, but you’ll also see us at village halls, schools and nursing homes, and sometimes online. We also offer music workshops too.

We’re here to shake things up, break down the barriers, making high quality orchestral music fun, accessible and affordable to everyone in Wales. Our audiences say, “Mind blowing”. “Super cool”. “Overwhelmingly beautiful”. “It moved me and my kids”.
