For those that have worked with me, you will know that in my own way I support a small number of charities that make a big difference to the communities in which they operate, and Daring to Dream – the Emotional Health Charity is one of those.
Barbara Chidgey and the team have been building something quietly extraordinary.
That’s the gap Daring to Dream fills.
Real spaces, in real hospitals, where patients and families can feel something, say something, and not feel alone in it.
48% of adults in Wales live with at least one longstanding illness. That’s 1.2 million people. Emotional health will most likely touch everyone at some point whether you are in Wales or not.
The Ball at the Hilton Cardiff is their annual fundraiser, and this year it coincides with highlighting ‘Here Together’, a charity single composed and performed by Lylia Young, with lots of back up from Ffion Parry. It’s stunning.
Bethany Handley is the guest speaker – an incredible award-winning author and disability activist.
If you’re free, tickets are still available. If you can’t make it, a donation goes a long way (and purchasing raffle tickets is a fun way to do this).
