We are the Emotional Health Charity and we are Daring to Dream
Diolch yn fawr iawn
In our bank account today has arrived the first year’s allocation from The Postcode Community Trust.
On behalf of everyone at team Daring to Dream – a massive thank you for this.
We were touched too by your feedback about our application and your wish that ‘this funding will have a big impact on your organisation and community’.
We will do our utmost to ensure that this funding makes a huge difference.
May we also thank the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery; without their support there would be no grants for so many charities across the UK.
Ensuring Daring to Dream can make the essential step-change to resilience
Daring to Dream has been allocated the maximum unrestricted grant of £50,000, apportioned across 3 years, from The Postcode Community Trust.
This is a gamechanger for us.
The most challenging step:
Daring to Dream is taking the most challenging step in any organisation’s journey, from being totally driven by a passionate and dedicated founder (describes me well!) to delivery by a professional team, supported & led strategically by its board.
Daring to Dream is now building a freelance operational team
This grant from the Postcode Community Trust and other unrestricted funds mean we have already begun to develop our freelance operational team, who will be more and more delivering our projects, (our Spaces to Talk and Spaces to Sing, including Lleswyl), driving forward stakeholder engagement and income generation.

The operational team as it grows will ensure that:
- Daring to Dream works across more and more hopsitals in Wales
- More and more Spaces to Talk, across hospitals in Wales, for when we all need them most.
- More and more Spaces to Sing, across hospitals in Wales, for when we all need music most to lift us, support us and bring us joy.
- Lleswyl (our annual wellbeing festival) becomes a key date on the Welsh calendar, highlighting the need to have Spaces to Talk when living with illness
- I steadily transition out of my operational roles; essential for the future of the charity.
Expanding the diversity and membership of our board of trustees
Our board of trustees also now need to become more representative, diverse, wider networked and lead the charity’s journey into resilience and sustainabilty, supporting the developing operational delivery team.
January 2026 will see the recruitment drive for our board expansion.
Thank you to the Postcode Community Trust
On behalf of the trustees of Daring to Dream and the 1.2 million adults in Wales living with illness, we can’t thank you enough for your support of and belief in our mission and also our clear ways of working.
