Early in July, I was fortunate to be included in the line-up of speakers for TEDx Bute Street event which was sponsored by Rhianon Passmore MS.
Thank you so much to the selection panel of Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, Matthew Hyde and Chris J. Birch.
A fantastic opportunity for me to talk about Daring to Dream on such an important platform and spread the word about #emotionalhealth and its importance for all of us living with #chronicillness.
Our mission at Daring to Dream is:
Supporting the emotional health of the 1.2 million adults in Wales living with physical illness.
Emotional health is really important, because our clinical care addresses our physical needs, but illness brings emotional turmoil that also hinders being able to enjoy life.
Better emotional health enhances the quality of life for all of us living with physical illness, enabling faster recovery and improving how we cope with and manage our ill health.
It was an honour speaking alongside 9 other fabulous people:
All of us on a mission to make good happen in our different ways Billy Adams, Ammar Ahktar, Molly Fenton, Emily Garside, Hannah Oertel, Tim Rhys-Evans, Jeff Smith, Nathan Spackman and Nathan Wyburn.
I loved listening to each talk, gaining insight into everyone’s individual enthusiasms and the change they are each influencing; thank you to each and every one of you!
My TEDx talk covered three key areas:
- Daring to Dream – the Emotional Health Charity
- #Lleswyl – Daring to Dream’s flagship wellbeing festival
- Daring to Dream’s core work of creating ‘Spaces to Talk’
