On March 29th, the charity held an online celebratory event, hosted by Sian Lloyd.
We aimed to:
- raise awareness of the need to support the emotional health and wellbeing of adult patients in Wales living with physical illness
- inform and celebrate the remarkable recent achievements of Daring to Dream, a young and ambitious charity, which only achieved its charitable status after the first lockdown in July 2020.
Joining Sian in the studio on the night were three wonderful people who live with very significant physical illness and who shared their informative and inspirational insights: James Barnett, Helen Presdee-Jones and Lowri Smith. We were also joined by John Rose, Director of the National Lottery Community Fund in Wales, Barbara Chidgey (founder and chair of Daring to Dream) and Dr Nav Masani (consultant cardiologist at University Hospital of Wales and trustee of Daring to Dream)
Our event included films of our transformed rooms in University Hospital of Wales, feedback from members of staff (Senior Nurse, Sian Williams and Specialist Nurse, Sarah Finch, of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Team in University Hospital of Wales as well as a really engaging conversation between Sian, James, Lowri and Helen.
We invite you to watch the event – it is informative, engaging and touching.
